Job Description:
The Department of Psychology welcomes applications for a
Professor of Practice position (associate professor-level or
professor-level) in counseling or clinical psychology. This is a
full-time appointment for a five-year renewable term beginning in
Spring 2027. The successful candidate will be expected to
contribute to the MA Counseling Psychology program by teaching
practicum and internship courses, as well as teaching other
counseling psychology theoretical and applied courses. The
candidate will also be expected to teach undergraduate courses. The
candidate should continue to maintain a program of professional
practice. The candidate will be an active member of the psychology
faculty and participate in departmental, school, and university
service.
Requirements:
Candidates should have a doctorate in counseling psychology,
clinical psychology, or related field, preferably with a
practitioner-scholar or scientist-practitioner model. Familiarity
with U.S. standards in practitioner training and ethics is
preferred. We are seeking candidates with experience in diverse or
integrative psychotherapy modalities and commitment to cultural
competence. As a professor of practice, the candidate should have
experience in providing psychotherapy and/or counseling services
and a positive reputation in the professional community. The
candidate should have previous experience with graduate level
teaching and clinical supervision. Expertise in multicultural
counseling, career counseling, couples counseling, and/or group
counseling is preferred. Valid professional licensure in U.S.,
Canada, or U.K. is preferred.
