Associate Scientist (Flight Sciences)

Job Description

Applicants are invited to apply for the position to design, develop, and build mini-drones for the implementation and testing of mini-drone algorithms. The successful candidate will engage in a multi-disciplinary robotics role which requires working and integrating hardware and software.

  • Drone system design, construction, testing, maintenance and repair
  • Mechanical, electrical, sensor, processor, radio, computer integration
  • Implementation and testing of software modules in C++ (e.g. collision avoidance) for mini-drones

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, computer, systems or related fields
  • Familiar with C++
  • Familiar with building and flying drones
  • Experience with flight control, robotics software, and simulation stack (e.g. PX4, ROS, QGroundControl, Gazebo) is a strong advantage
  • Experience with designing parts for 3D printing is a plus
  • Ability to work well with team members and good communication skills are essential.
