The Associate Specialist will conduct genetic, molecular biology and biochemical studies of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) in neural development and translational science. Duties include lncRNA-based proximity labeling of RNA, DNA and proteins to determine the interactome of a lncRNA regulator of neurogenesis. CRISPR-based engineering will also be used to develop neural lncRNAs as therapeutic targets and biomarkers.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of experience in the relevant specialization.
- Experience with CRISPR-based tools and neural development.
- Knowledge and experimental experience with lncRNA function in mouse models of neural development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with RNA in situ hybridization as a tool for proximity based labeling of RNA, DNA and proteins.
- Bioinformatic/computation skills necessary for analyzing RNA/DNA/Protein interactomes.
See Table 24B for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $75,600 - $88,000.
