The School of Applied Sciences and Arts (SASA) delivers science and liberal arts courses to students from all majors at the Polytechnic and Downtown campuses. Our career-focused applied-learning programs range from undergraduate applied biology majors in pre-veterinary medicine, pre-dental, and sustainable horticulture programs to majors in interdisciplinary studies, communication, and STS (science, technology, and society). SASA is the home of one of the nation’s first degrees in Military and Veterans Studies, and we are committed to the robust support of veteran and military-affiliated students through our Office for Veteran and Military Academic Engagement. As a Hispanic Serving Institution aligned with ASU’s charter to serve our local community, we are also the home of the Latinx Oral History Lab for undergraduate research and storytelling. Through interdisciplinary scholarship and applied research, SASA advances knowledge and technology while promoting sustainability and innovation in the communities we serve.
ASU's College of Integrative Sciences and Arts (CISA) seeks student-centered faculty who engage students in practical, interdisciplinary learning and demonstrate a commitment to community-engaged scholarship and service. Faculty in CISA are innovators in teaching and learning, preparing students to lead with purpose and make meaningful contributions in a dynamic world. CISA is a leader in applied and career-connected learning, with continuous innovation in teaching, curriculum development, veteran initiatives and AI integration. CISA has more than 9,000 students at all levels and 361 faculty members with 84 programs across three campuses and online. We understand there are many paths to achieving a university education. We build degree programs and pathways that are flexible and relevant, providing opportunities for students to discover their passion, develop lifelong transferable skills and enjoy employment success. CISA is committed to ASU’s Charter of inclusive excellence, where all faculty, staff, and students can thrive.
Arizona State University, ranked the No. 1 “Most Innovative School” in the nation by U.S. News & World Report for 11 years in succession, has forged the model for a New American University. Repeatedly ranked No. 1, ASU has topped more than 30 lists in the last three years: No. 1 in the U.S. for global impact (Times Higher Education) and No. 1 in the U.S. for sustainable practices (Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education). ASU is a comprehensive public research institution, measured not by whom it excludes, but by whom it includes and how they succeed; advancing research and discovery of public value; and assuming fundamental responsibility for the economic, social, cultural and overall health of the communities it serves. ASU operates on the principles that learning is a personal and original journey for each student; that they thrive on experience and that the process of discovery cannot be bound by traditional academic disciplines. Through innovation and a commitment to accessibility, ASU has drawn pioneering researchers to its faculty even as it expands opportunities for qualified students, attracting some of the highest-quality students from all 50 states and more than 130 nations.
