The State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City invites applications for the position of Associate/Assistant Professor, who will also be a joint faculty member in the Faculty of Science and Technology, in the following disciplines:

• Urban Sustainability
• Climate Change and Sustainable Urban Development
• Urban Energy Use, Emissions and Carbon Neutrality
• Safety and Resilience of Urban Systems
• Urban Hydroclimate
• Urbanization Modeling

Qualifications

1. A PhD degree in Geography, Atmospheric Sciences, Earth System Science, Sustainable Engineering, Urban Science, Geographic Information System, Ecology, or related disciplines;
2. Candidates should have considerable experience in academic development planning and research development, and be excellent in teaching, research and service with outstanding academic leadership skills for research and development;
3. A distinguished record of internationally-recognized research;
4. Substantial experience in securing research funding;
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
6. English is the working language, while knowledge in Chinese/Portuguese will be an advantage.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty as soon as possible.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
