Asst/Assoc/Full Professor of Practice - Management
Position Description
The Area of Management in the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice (start date: Spring 2027 or Fall 2027). Candidates with a background in management, entrepreneurship, leadership, organizational behavior, family business, strategy, or closely related fields will be considered.
Salary and benefits are highly competitive and include financial support for data acquisition and domestic and international conference travel.
Major/Essential Functions
At Texas Tech University, the Professor of Practice title is used to recruit individuals with exceptional backgrounds and achievements in academic, business, government, or other professional practice. Primary responsibilities normally will be to teach in an area of expertise, mentor students in professional and career preparation, and liaise with professional contacts and entities on behalf of the department or program.
In line with TTU's strategic priorities to engage and empower a dynamic student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with a breadth of student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.
Faculty Qualifications
- Candidates must hold a master's degree in Management or a related field. ABD candidates are encouraged to apply if all doctoral degree requirements will be completed by Jan 2027.
- A demonstrated record or aptitude for high-quality research in the field of management or an exceptional background in professional practice.
- Specific experience in teaching management courses in one or more of the following areas: management, organizational behavior, entrepreneurship, family business, and/or strategy delivered using one or more teaching modalities.
- Service experience or demonstrated aptitude to engage in service to the department, college, and university.
Preferred Qualifications
A PhD in Management or related field.
