Asst/Assoc Professor, Human Performance and Rehab Sciences (Tenure-Track)
Required expertise in a health science-related field.Contribute to teaching and mentoring within the PhD in Health Sciences program. Demonstrate the potential to develop and sustain a focused research agenda, possess strong knowledge of research methodologies (qualitative and/or quantitative), and show a commitment to ongoing scholarly development.
Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.
Work Schedule:Typically, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, and the possibility of some weekend days. Presence both on the YSU campus and online, depending on program and student needs.
Primary Location: Youngstown
Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: CITI training required or completed at time of hire. Maintain an active license in the State of Ohio if required by discipline.
Sponsorship and/or Work Authorization Status:Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Minimum Qualifications:PhD in a Health Science or related health field; evidence of scholarly activity (e.g., peer-reviewed publications, presentations, or research dissemination); evidence of teaching at university level. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications:Record of peer-reviewed publications, experience securing or contributing to externally funded grants, experience teaching graduate-level coursework, experience serving on thesis or dissertation committees. Established research agenda.
Physical Requirements:In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform sedentary work.
Sedentary:work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs may be defined as Sedentary when walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other Sedentary criteria aremet.
