Biosurfactant-Integrated Microbubble Aeration for Oxygen Delivery and Enhanced Biostimulation of Ocimum basilicum L.
About the Project
To address the growing global population, projected to reach 10 billion by 2050, the United Nations (UN) emphasizes the critical need for sustainable agricultural. Hydroponics, a soil-less cultivation method, offers a promising approach by optimising food production in land-scarce urban areas. However, challenges remain in maintaining root health and stimulating growth in soil-less environments, particularly in oxygen delivery and nutrient uptake efficiency. This research aims to investigate the synergistic interactions of microbubble aeration and biosurfactants in enhancing Ocimum basilicum L. (sweet basil) growth in hydroponic systems.
