Brunel University London is seeking a driven and creative Brunel Volunteers Coordinator to lead the ongoing development of its volunteering service.
About the Role
This is an opportunity to play a key role in developing Brunel’s volunteering offer, building a vibrant culture of volunteering on campus while forging strong partnerships with local charities, schools, community groups and internal stakeholders.
As the Brunel Volunteers Coordinator, you will:
- Lead the development and delivery of a high-quality volunteering service aligned with the university’s strategy.
- Build and maintain relationships across the university and with organisations in the local community, expanding the range and quality of volunteering opportunities available to students.
- Develop and promote opportunities both on and off campus to include delivery of key events including volunteering fairs and community initiatives such as Junior Citizens.
- Run meaningful projects, like Students in Schools, connecting Brunel students with local classrooms and community settings.
- Produce reports, contribute to planning discussions and champion the role of volunteering within the university.
We are looking for someone who brings:
- A degree, and/or strong transferable skills such as communication and problem solving.
- An ability to self-manage and work on their own initiative.
- Experience in higher education, the voluntary sector, or a student focused environment.
- Confident relationship building skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of partners.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of the employability agenda and the community/voluntary sector landscape.
- Competence using digital systems, databases, MS Office.
- Experience of promoting events and activities through social media.
- A proactive approach with enthusiasm for developing new ideas and supporting student growth.
