Spanning thousands of years of human thought and discovery, Cambridge University Libraries and Archives house unique treasures and research materials made up of nearly ten million books, maps, manuscripts, photographs and priceless objects.

The role

The University Library is looking to appoint a Facilities Management Assistant (Driver). The FM team provides a wide range of services to the University Library and a network of affiliated libraries across Cambridge. This role will be the libraries sole driver, playing a key part in supporting daily operations.

As FM Van Driver you will

  • Make daily deliveries and collections to the off-site storage facility in Ely.
  • Deliver material to various locations across Cambridge and sometimes further afield.
  • Check and maintain both library vehicles, a 3.5T tail lift Luton van and a Ford Transit.
  • Be responsible for communicating with other departments to arrange deliveries and collections at a time to suit them.
  • Help other FM colleagues to carry out basic maintenance tasks, spot cleaning, contractor escorting and other tasks allocated to you via the FM Helpdesk.
