Business Manager - Division of Nephrology - Internal Medicine
The Division of Nephrology seeks a Business Manager to drive administrative operations and supervise the efforts of the administrative team made up of Administrative Assistants and Specialists. The team supports a body of 50 instructional, clinical, research track faculty members who are deeply engaged in our tripartite mission of clinical, research, and educational excellence. Every function that the administrative team engages in intends to advance these missions.
Work both independently and collaborate with the Division Administrator to solve and execute all of the following:
- Staff Leadership - Supervise 5 or more FTEs, in various administrative support roles. Responsible for hiring decisions, performance evaluations, promotions, professional development, and disciplinary action. Maintain and update support model and continue to make changes to align with needs of the division
- Lab Support - Advise hiring managers and primary investigators on hiring practices, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, procurement, and payroll support. Create workflow, supporting documents and education on areas of support
- Department Operations - Manage annual evaluation process for the division to include communication and merit allocation. Serve as culture coach for employee engagement survey, manage COOP (continuity of operations plan - emergency preparedness) communications and plans for wet labs, IMPOWER council staff lead for the division
- Division operations - Including but not limited to: Maintain oversight of quality for Division portfolio of CV's. Guide staff involved with Faculty Evaluation process. Provide oversight of portfolio of staff operations in Transplant Center, hospital units, and outpatient units. Maintain oversight on various weekly conferences within the division
- ACGME Program Oversight - Manage ACGME compliance, provide oversight, and ensure execution in administration of ACGME general nephrology fellowship program and 2 non-ACGME programs
- Innovation - Seek to modernize and improve processes to the benefit of division faculty and staff
- Other - Support and drive team projects that arise in a timely and efficient manner
- Bachelors degree and at least 10 years of administrative experience.
- Deep knowledge of university and medical school policies and procedures
- Familiarity with clinical operations and QGenda scheduling system
Monday through Friday schedule is assumed. The design of the hybrid schedule is negotiable.
