Position Summary
The School of Management is seeking a Business Specialist to support both the business operations of the School of Management Centers and the execution of professional and executive development programs. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a working knowledge of general accounting principles and university policies and procedures. This position requires the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities, exercise sound judgment in a compliance-sensitive environment, and develop effective working relationships with Center Directors, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support the business operations of the School of Management Centers by preparing budget documentation, processing operational transactions, and ensuring efficient and compliant business practices.
- Coordinate the delivery of professional and executive education programs, including participant registration, customer service, instructor payroll, and program tracking.
- Manage financial activities across Centers and executive education programs, including invoicing, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborate with Center Directors, faculty, and program staff to support Center initiatives, planned events, and day-to-day operational needs.
- Administer fee structures, agreements, and contract processes in support of Centers and executive education programs.
- Develop and maintain process documentation and internal controls to promote consistency, efficiency, and compliance with university policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field
- At least 2 years experience in business operations, financial administration or program coordination.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize own work to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education setting is desirable.
- Understanding of cost accounting principles.
Salary Range: $65,000
