The doctoral degree is possible to complete in six major disciplines: accounting and corporate finance, corporate communication, corporate environmental management, management and leadership, marketing, and strategy and entrepreneurship.

Finland has a national graduate programme in business studies, KATAJA (The Finnish Doctoral Program in Business Studies). KATAJA's courses are ideal ingredients of the doctoral degree.
Students can deepen their expertise through including KATAJA courses as optional studies. In some cases, compulsory courses offered by JYU can be replaced with courses offered by KATAJA.
