Job Description
Summary
The Business Support Specialist provides comprehensive administrative, financial, and operational support for MizzouRec. This position independently manages departmental business processes, serves as the primary point of contact for administrative functions, and supports senior leadership and programmatic operations. The role works closely with the Student Affairs Business Administration team to ensure compliance with University of Missouri and Student Affairs policies, procedures, and fiscal guidelines.
Essential Functions
- Serve as primary point of contact for departmental business operations, including small purchases, reconciliation and travel processes. Manage One Card reconciliation activities, ensuring accuracy, documentation, and compliance with university guidelines. Serve as the designated ShowMe Shop purchaser for MizzouRec.
- Coordinate all departmental travel arrangements, including booking travel, processing reimbursement and maintaining required documentation. Work closely with Student Affairs Business Administration team to support budgeting, purchasing, reconciliation, and financial reporting functions.
- Provide administrative support to senior leadership including scheduling, correspondence, document preparation, and coordination of departmental priorities. Oversee office operations for MizzouRec, including ordering office supplies, maintaining inventory, and overseeing general office operations.
- Organize and coordinate staff and departmental meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, distribution of materials, and follow up as needed. Maintain organized and accurate records related to administrative, financial, and operational activities.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for Wheelchair Basketball team and other designated programs, including small purchasing, travel coordination and communication support. Assist with departmental projects, initiatives, and events as assigned. Serve as liaison with campus partners and vendors to facilitate effective communication and timely resolution of administrative records.
Shift
Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. This position may require evening and weekend hours supporting activities and programs within the department. Occasionally division and campus projects may require additional hours outside of your normal schedule.
Minimum Qualifications
An Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Range: $17.05 - $24.00/hour, paid on a biweekly basis. GGS/PAT Level: GGS 007. University Title: Business Support Specialist II.
