Camp Lifeguard
Chatham University is seeking a responsible and enthusiastic Camp Lifeguard to support our Music and Arts Day Camp. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, fun, and welcoming aquatic environment for campers while supporting the overall camp experience. Ideal candidates are attentive, safety‑focused, and enjoy working with children in a creative, camp‑based setting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attention to detail is imperative.
- Applicants must possess a valid American Red Cross Lifeguard AND CPR certification.
- Applicants should possess precise communication skills to manage the pool.
- Responsible for monitoring swimmers always.
- Maintain safety and security in the pool area.
- Enforcing pool rules always.
- Pool water testing in accordance with the Health Department.
- Assisting swimmer(s) with the proper use and teaching of equipment.
- Participating in any ongoing training/in services.
- Completing other duties as assigned by the supervisor for this position.
Qualifications:
- MUST possess valid American Red Cross Lifeguard and CPR Certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of lifeguarding experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
