Ability to de-escalate conflict situations and a demeanor that is perceived as professional yet calm and relaxed. 3. A high level of professional ethics and personal integrity 4. High school diploma or equivalent. 5. Law enforcement/retired military police experience preferred. 6. Must qualify for Florida Department of State Class "D" and "G" licenses. 7. Must be able to exert appropriate strength when necessary. 8. Ability to climb stairs to the top of a nine story building; make judgment calls while under pressure/duress; carry and use, if necessary, a firearm while under pressure/duress appropriately. 9. Apprehend and detain, if necessary, suspected law violators which may include physical exertion. 10. Excellent clear and concise communication skills required. 11. Must have a valid Florida driver's license. 12. Must successfully pass a personal background, criminal records, psychological, and physical check. 13. Experience in using various Safety Department equipment (two-way radio, cameras, computers, etc). 14. Must be a US citizen or a Permanent Legal Resident Alien. 15.
