The Health & Wellbeing team, under the Office of the President, spearheads the innovation, implementation, and evaluation of health & wellbeing programs. These initiatives cater to the entire NUS population and extend specific support to employees facing acute mental stressors. We're on the lookout for a dedicated, energetic, and passionate individual to join our dynamic team.

As a Care Manager in our unit, you'll be a cornerstone in bolstering the mental wellbeing of 13,000 NUS employees. You'll actively contribute to our in-house services of Respondent Care (i.e., supporting staff undergoing investigations due to allegations of misconduct), and Mental Health Return-to-Work, ensuring our employees have swift access to top-notch case management and psychological help when they most need it. You will also work closely with our in-house clinical team and coordinate with other NUS stakeholders to manage our clients’ needs, thereby facilitating a holistic approach for all employees across the wellbeing spectrum.

Job Description (Care Manager)

  • Case Management:
    • Deliver quality end-to-end case management support and time-sensitive care response to distressed employees undergoing investigations including accompaniment to key meetings
    • Establish professional rapport for emotional support and case management, including timely casework documentations
    • Provide foundational psychological support to respondents and clients through regular check-ins and basic counselling support
    • Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders from incident report to resolution, and facilitate exchanges between relevant support staff
    • Maintain up-to-date data management and filing for reporting and analysis, including improving standard operating procedures
  • Continuous Improvement & Development:
    • Serve as a change agent in an environment of continuous process improvement, innovation and collaboration on the Staff Wellbeing and Engagement team
    • Committed to supervision, case discussions, and training to improve quality of care
    • Participate and contribute to novel projects to drive the university’s health and wellbeing strategy e.g., peer staff support programme, mental health training, running support groups, restorative practice approaches
    • Contribute to HWB’s initiatives such as engagement and awareness outreach to other NUS units

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, counselling, psychology, nursing, or related field
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience in case management and supporting distressed individuals in the education, community or in healthcare settings
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Strong case management skills (e.g., facilitative, adaptable, agile, conscientious, collaborative)
    • At ease with fast-paced and high-pressure situations while projecting professional equanimity
    • Able to deal with complexity, and use initiative and situational judgment to solve problems effectively
