The Department of Engineering and Public Policy (EPP) is a unique department in the College of Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University which addresses important problems in technology and policy.
Carnegie Mellon University’s Department of Engineering and Public Policy seeks a Career Counselor to lead the planning, development, and implementation of EPP MS career planning, counseling, and job searches.
Core Responsibilities
Employer Relations
- Develops and implements an employer outreach plan that meets the needs of students.
- Manages and oversees Employer Recruitment, Relationships, Development, and External Relations.
Program Management
- Develops and implements relevant programming that meets graduate students’ career needs.
- Take lead responsibility for managing the development and execution of student orientation programs, workshops, and other events.
Advising
- Provides career services and serves as the primary career coach to master’s students.
- Provides career development counseling and advising to college graduate students.
Assessment/Data Management
- Engage in tracking and reporting student employment outcomes.
- Manges data collection for internal dashboards.
Recruiting / Partnerships
- Identifying partnership opportunities with corporations to provide internships and Capstone projects.
Course Support: Internship and Capstone Projects
- Coordinates counseling and interview preparation to assist students securing a required summer internship.
Marketing/Communications
- Designs, schedules and executes campaigns for recruiting, job opportunities, job fairs, career events.
Alumni Relations
- Active alumni relationship management via self-created data base.
Admissions
- Key member of ETIM admissions committee.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1-3 years’ Experience Career Counselor
