projects as assigned. The Circulation Supervisor participates in Library committees and planning activities. Schedule is Sunday - Thursday, 11:0am - 7:00pm, with some changes during school breaks and summer.
Supervision (50%)
- Supervise the Circulation Desk
- Hire, schedule and submit payroll for student assistants
- Coordinate training student assistants
- Assign tasks to student assistants and supervise their work
- Supervise daily shelving of serials and books
Access and Collections (40%)
- Assist in cataloging print and digital materials
- Participate in organizing, ordering and collecting books for Reserves, including physically placing books on reserve and sending deliveries to other libraries
- Serve as backup for interlibrary loan requests
- Process print serials
- Interpret library policies for patrons
- Support Virtual Reference service
Facilities (10%)
- Coordinate maintenance of physical appearance of library facility
- Collaborate with other Library members in Library outreach activities
RequirementsRequired:
- A bachelor's degree
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and meeting deadlines
- Ability to be reliable
- Ability to work independently
Desired:
- Supervisory experience
- Customer service experience
- Library experience or attending a graduate program in Library Science
Physical Requirement:
- Standing, sitting, manual dexterity, ability to move between offices and floors of buildings
- Ability to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure
- Ability to be physically in attendance at designated worksite during scheduled work hours
- Normal range of vision and hearing (with or without correction)
- Ability to lift up to 5-10 lbs.
