Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor & Director of Clinical Education - Master of Medical Science
Tarleton State University invites applications for the position of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor & Director of Clinical Education in the Master of Medical Science Physician Assistant Medicine. This is a 12-month, non-tenure-track position located on Tarleton’s main campus in Stephenville, Texas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
40% Teaching and Service
- Work closely with the Program Director to ensure cohesiveness of the clinical curriculum.
- Design original or review and modify curricula.
- Generate and deliver classroom learning experiences and clinical skills instruction.
- Participate in programmatic data gathering, analysis, accreditation, and admissions processes.
- Provide student advisement and mentorship.
60% Administrative
- Develop, maintain, and review clinical sites and affiliation agreements.
- Provide clinical preceptor orientation.
- Lead support staff in the clinical phase.
- Conduct site visits, implement clerkship assignments and assessments.
- Collaborate on curricular design and continuous assessment.
Minimum Requirements
- Master's degree from an ARC-PA-accredited Physician Assistant program and current NCCPA certification.
- Unrestricted Texas state license (or license eligible) as a Physician Assistant.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical practice.
- Previous clinical precepting or teaching experience preferred.
