Organizational Unit Overview
The Division of Infectious Diseases at The Brody School of Medicine is dedicated to the treatment of people infected with HIV in Eastern North Carolina. Our physicians and physician extenders currently provide care for more than 1,800 HIV patients in our clinic in Greenville. The division is involved in many clinical trials involving HIV therapies. Our clinical trials have studied HIV, COVID, C. Difficile, and Staphylococcal bacteremia. These trials provide needed drugs to persons who may otherwise not be able to receive treatment.
Job Duties
The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases at the Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina University is recruiting a faculty position at the title/rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor OR Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor commensurate with qualifications; tenure track or fixed-term 12-month appointment available. Number of years practicing and accomplishments varies for each title/rank.
The successful candidate will be BC/BE in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease. Clinical duties will include inpatient consults, outpatient office visits, along with teleconsults, and teaching medical students, residents and ID fellows. Opportunities for clinical research are available. The Divisions current strengths are Infection Control/Hospital Epidemiology, HIV medicine and clinical trials, viral diseases, including SARS-CoV-2, and antibiotic stewardship. About 90 minutes from the Carolina beaches, Greenville enjoys a year-round climate with an average temperature of 60 degrees.
