Clinical Assistant Professor (Professional Track)
The University of South Carolina (USC) Arnold School of Public Health seeks applicants for a Clinical Assistant Professor position focused on coordinating supervised experience courses in our new Master of Science in Performance Nutrition and Dietetics degree program. This position is in the Department of Exercise Science, which is nationally and internationally recognized for its research contributions, outstanding masters and doctoral programs, large undergraduate program, and its contribution to physical activity and public health.
The Master of Science in Performance Nutrition and Dietetics (MS/PND) program is the first and only nutrition and dietetics degree program at USC. The MS/PND program is strongly supported by a robust collection of preceptors, instructors, Advisory Board members, and administrative stakeholders. The program curriculum is designed to elevate performance nutrition education through a novel, practical curriculum that crosses dietetics practice with performance nutrition services. This 2-year graduate program includes both traditional dietetics and advanced performance nutrition content to cultivate confident, entry-level dietitians that promote health and human performance in a variety of practice settings.
The MS/PND program has gained candidacy accreditation status by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) under the Future Education Model Accreditation Standards for Graduate Programs. All program graduates will be eligible to register for the RDN exam.
This full-time, 12-month faculty position is being established at the departmental level to coordinate and teach the MS/PND program supervised experience courses, assist with program data collection and steward preceptor relations, as well as mentor graduate students in the program. The successful candidate will be motivated to serve as a custodian of preceptor-student relations within the program. They will support the program director in cultivating meaningful learning experiences for students within the program. The Director of Clinical Education will oversee and manage the coordination of supervised experience rotations as well as the student learning experiences within them.
