Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
The Department of Physical Therapy invites applications for a 12-month full-time Clinical faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor for our pre-accreditation status Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. This core faculty position will require teaching, advisement, scholarship and service responsibilities. Immediate start date available for qualified candidates.
Educational Requirements for the Position
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). A terminal academic Doctoral degree (PhD, DSc, ScD, EdD, or equivalent) is preferred. Active, unencumbered PT license in any United States jurisdiction and compliance with the practice act in Texas.
Experience Required for the Position
Full-time post-licensure clinical practice experience with demonstrated expertise in one or more areas of physical therapy practice. Evidence of teaching ability and commitment to physical therapy education
Other Requirements for the Position
Preferred Qualifications: American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists (ABPTS) certification in Orthopedics, Sports, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, Cardiovascular & Pulmonary, Clinical Electrophysiology, Oncology, or Women’s Health. Previous experience teaching in a physical therapist education program. Experience with curriculum development and assessment. Evidence of professional development activities and continuing education. Knowledge of physical therapy accreditation standards and educational best practices. Experience with clinical research or evidence-based practice initiatives. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong motivation to drive students’ clinical success through collaborative and personalized resource management.
