Clinical Assistant Professor
The Ashman Department of Periodontology & Implant Dentistry is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Clinical Assistant Professor to join our dynamic academic team. This full-time faculty member will play an integral role in educating and mentoring students in the predoctoral DDS program and/or the Advanced Education Program in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant learning environment through both didactic and clinical teaching. Key responsibilities include developing and delivering curriculum, supervising patient care, mentoring residents and fellows, collaborating with faculty and staff, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the program. The successful candidate will help foster a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative educational setting while upholding the highest standards of academic and clinical excellence. They will also contribute to the continued growth and advancement of periodontal and implant education at the institution.
Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to scholarly activity, including conducting research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals. Experience or training in public health and/or epidemiology is strongly preferred.

- DDS, DMD, or equivalent dental degree from an accredited institution
- Eligible for Board Certification in Periodontology
- Advanced training in implant dentistry, periodontics, prosthodontics, or a related specialty
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience with demonstrated expertise in both surgical implant placement and restorative implant dentistry
- Previous academic or postgraduate teaching experience preferred
- Active or eligible for licensure in New York State
- Demonstrated track record of clinical excellence, professionalism, and a strong commitment to education
- Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate effectively with fellows, residents, and faculty
- Interest in innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and continued advancement of implant education and patient care
- Master in Epidemiology or in Public Health is preferred.
