Position Overview

The Department of Nursing in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CNHS) at the University of Vermont (UVM) invites applications for two full-time, 9- month clinical faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.

The primary responsibility of this position is to deliver high quality instruction in the undergraduate and/or graduate Nursing programs. Additional responsibilities include academic advising and evaluation of student learning outcomes, contributing to service at the program, college, and/or university levels, and maintaining clinical practice as appropriate. Both positions will support UVM's commitment to high-quality, student-centered education.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of Master's Degree in Nursing or Masters in progress
  • Demonstrated competence in clinical practice or specialization by attaining national nursing specialty certification and/or advanced practice licensure.
  • Currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an advanced practice nurse or as a registered nurse in the State of Vermont.
  • Minimum of 2 years teaching at the collegiate level or earned doctorate in nursing or related field.

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences serves approximately 1,200 students across undergraduate and graduate programs and is deeply committed to interprofessional education, clinical excellence, and educational innovation. The College brings together multiple health professions in a collaborative academic environment that prepares graduates to work effectively in team-based, patient-centered care settings. CNHS emphasizes experiential learning, simulation-based education, community engagement, and the integration of emerging technologies to prepare students for the evolving healthcare landscape.

The Department

The successful candidate will join a dynamic and supportive Department of Nursing committed to excellence in clinical teaching, student mentorship, and innovative nursing education. The Department includes approximately 40 full-time and 40 part-time clinical faculty who work collaboratively to educate a vibrant and diverse student body of more than 500 undergraduate students and over 100 graduate students. Academic offerings include an undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Direct Entry Master's program, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, including a direct entry option.
