Central Connecticut State University invites applications to join the Department of Social Work as a full-time clinical coordinator, beginning academic year 2026-2027. We seek applicants who are dedicated to preparing the next generation of social work professionals by working with multiple clinical sites to coordinate student clinical placements at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
Position Profile
In collaboration with the chair, faculty, and staff within the Department of Social Work, the clinical coordinator works with multiple clinical sites to coordinate student clinical placements at both the undergraduate and graduate level. The coordinator identifies, recruits, approves, and establishes collaborative relationships with clinical/practicum sites to build partnerships, respond to changing needs, mediate concerns, and resolve problems. Other duties require submitting requests to clinical agencies for student clinical site placements and responding to inquiries from clinical agencies regarding planned student clinical site placements. Furthermore, the coordinator develops and oversees the internship tracking database and access for students, field instructors, and field faculty. Finally, the coordinator is expected to participate in curriculum development, with leadership for the field education components of the curriculum, including effective linkages between field education and didactic curriculum.

Demonstrated ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students. Demonstrated ability to prioritize workflow, adjust to changes in work assignments and work with others to complete required projects. Demonstrated superior written and oral communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to relate and work collegially, constructively, and effectively with a variety of stakeholders, groups and individuals, as well as the ability to work independently.
Applicant Evaluative Criteria
Education: All applicants must possess bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited university or college.
Experience and Training:
- Three (3) years of clinical experience as a social worker
- Licensure as a social worker in the State of Connecticut or immediately license eligible
- Credentials and/or experience substantially comparable to the above may also be considered
Ideal Candidate Preference will be given to applicants with the following:
- Master’s degree in social work preferred
- Experience in curriculum development, accreditation, and program assessment
- Experience supervising field placements or clinical supervision of students
- Experience working with community partnerships
