Clinical Instructor and Coordinator of Anatomy & Physiology

Job Summary/Description:

The Department of Health Science Professions at Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX seeks applicants for a nontenure-eligible Clinical Instructor to teach Anatomy & Physiology. The individual will also coordinate and assist the other A&P faculty to ensure a quality curriculum. Candidates are required to have college teaching experience and the ability to use Anatomage. The actual discipline is open however the candidate must have a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Biological Sciences or Anatomy and Physiology-related coursework. The candidate will be expected to collaborate with colleagues in teaching and devising curriculum and lab activities for courses.

Typical Duties/Job Duties:

Teaching is the primary responsibility, but the successful applicant may also expect to perform service and/or other departmental duties as assigned. Nine-month appointment with the possibility of teaching summer classes. Must be willing to teach morning, evening, and afternoon courses and labs. The successful applicant will be expected to teach undergraduate-level courses in HSP for majors and non-majors, in human anatomy and physiology. The candidate will be expected to collaborate with colleagues in devising curriculum and lab activities for various courses. The applicant may also be expected to participate in departmental, college, and university-level activities, advise students, and serve on departmental and university committees.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The successful applicant should possess strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and a desire to develop innovative learning experiences. Applicant should be dedicated to excellence in teaching and service with a strong commitment to high professional standards, both in and out of the classroom. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology sufficient to teach and assess academically rigorous undergraduate-level courses. Exceptional teaching skills are a must as is the ability to collaborate with colleagues in a collegial and professional manner. Involvement in community service and professional development is highly encouraged.

Minimum Qualifications:

Earned M.S. in Biological Sciences or related field from an accredited institution with college-level teaching experience.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to prep and utilize technology related to the assigned courses.
