Clinical Radiologist (Part Time)
An opportunity has arisen for a part-time (1 day per week, 0.2 FTE) Clinical Radiologist to join the Diagnostic Imaging service team at the Queen's Veterinary School Hospital, Cambridge.
We are a large, multidisciplinary small animal referral hospital, sitting within the University of Cambridge Department of Veterinary Medicine. The Hospital operates as a commercially competitive hospital, whilst remaining central to supporting teaching of veterinary undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as delivering and supporting veterinary clinical and one health research. The QVSH also works collaboratively with our small animal and equine primary care practices and is supported by our in-house Clinical Pathology and Anatomical Pathology services.
The Role
You will be responsible for providing small animal diagnostic imaging services to the Queen's Veterinary School Hospital, along with intermittent imaging support to the QVSH General Practice and Cambridge Equine Clinic, our first opinion small animal and equine services. You will actively partake in the imaging service provision including primary case management. You will be involved in the training and supervision of postgraduate Clinical Training Scholars (interns and residents) as well as being involved in on-case practical teaching of diagnostic imaging to veterinary undergraduates on their final year rotations. You may be required to partake in a small amount of diagnostic imaging lecture and practical provision to veterinary undergraduates as well as examining duties. You will assist the Principal Clinical Radiologist with marketing of the diagnostic imaging service and engagement with local referring practitioners. You will work collegiately with the wider hospital to ensure efficient patient flow through the hospital services.
You will be required to participate in the imaging out of hours (OOH) rota. This will involve both primary (sole on call) for the service, as well as times offering support for imaging training scholars. When on call, either as primary contact or training scholar support, all staff members are required to be available to attend on site if needed. OOH Rota participation attracts supplementary remuneration.
