Clinical Research Coordinator A/B (Hybrid Eligible)(Department of Neurology)
Job Description Summary
The Penn Memory Center (PMC) is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to join out multi-disciplinary team of health professionals. This coordinator will lead or substantially assist other coordinators in the execution of longitudinal studies focused on increasing minority representation in our Aging Brain Cohort at PMC This work includes the recruitment and retention of potential research participants. This research recruits a spectrum of older adults including persons with no cognitive impairment and persons with cognitive impairment caused by Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases. Additional duties include assisting in preparation and submission of IRB documents, coordinating and maintaining sponsor or CRO documentation, scheduling and conducting study visits per protocol and participating in ongoing rater certification, protocol training and compliance meetings.
Job Description
CRC A: The coordinator will be responsible for coordinating federally sponsored research studies. Coordinating duties will include screening and enrolling study participants, completing the informed consent process, administering study questionnaires and neuropsychological tests, maintaining telephone follow-up with study participants, coordinating and scheduling imaging /infusion visits, escorting participants to imaging centers, data entry/cleaning.
The position works closely with the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigators, outreach and recruitment coordinator, research manager, and study team to successfully carry out the aims of the research studies, identify problems and develop solutions, implement approved changes to procedures, and monitor results. They will also serve as a back-up coordinator on other studies within the PMC.
CRC B: In addition to the duties listed above, the CRC B will be responsible for assisting with preparation and submission of regulatory documents to the Institutional Review Boards and will support the study team in new study start up activities.
Qualifications
- CRC A: Bachelor's Degree and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- CRC B: Bachelor's Degree and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- The candidate must be detail-oriented, have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience and/or interest in working with older adults preferred. Familiarity with IRB guidelines, human subject research practices, and appropriate professional skills in the execution of research protocols is a plus. The CRC A/B will be expected to perform other duties as reasonably assigned.
