Job Description Summary
Clinical Research Coordinator A (CRC A) - The primary role of the CRC A is the organization, coordination, and implementation of a number of community outreach and clinical research studies for the University of Pennsylvania's Center for Resuscitation Science (CRS). The CRS is dedicated to clinical research and training surrounding cardiac arrest and resuscitation care with the goal of improving survival from sudden cardiac arrest. The primary responsibility of the CRC A will be the implementation of the community outreach programs of the Mobile CPR Project and the CRS. The CRC A will also secondarily work closely with the Directors of the CRS to identify and assist with developing clinical research programs that support the CRS mission targeted at improving bystander CPR rates and survival. The position is responsible for overseeing all tasks necessary to ensure that studies are conducted safely and according to protocol, coordinating the IRB process, implementing projects, working closely with leadership on grants submissions, ensuring that studies stay on target and participation in research meetings. The CRC A is responsible for coordinating the study volunteers participating on various projects.

Position contingent upon funding.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with the PI and supervisor to identify clinical research and community outreach programs that support the CRS mission. Collaborate with PI and supervisor to fine tune final project vision. Assist leadership as needed with grant proposal preparation and submission including research writing, liaison between contributors and budget development.
  • Coordinate community outreach activities and research studies focusing on CPR and CPR quality. Coordinate project flow, ensure project milestones are meet and data is accurate. Identify need for & implement improvements. Responsible for handling communication with community partners. Recruit subjects and oversee volunteers.
  • Assist with the oversight of project volunteers and staff by coordinating schedules. Work with Director of Research and HR Coordinator on various employment related transactions.
  • Handle growth of programming to potentially include certification CPR classes.
  • Will assist with coordinating IRB documents.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and 1 to 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Required: Driver's License
  • Preferred: Community Educational Experience (Ideally Medically-Focused), CPR Certification, Certification as an EMT, Paramedic, or AHA CPR Instructor.
