CLINICAL RESEARCH COORDINATOR I
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Med - Cardiovascular Disease, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I.
General Responsibilities
- To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.
- To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.
- To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Possesses excellent communication skills and be able to converse in a clear manner with subjects over the phone, and be able to explain the study to potential subjects.
- Initiation, modification, amendments, and continuing review of IRB protocols.
- Identifies and engages with potential participants for vascular and cardiovascular research studies and clinical trials.
- Data entry and meticulous paper and electronic record and file keeping.
- The main focus of this position is to work on multi-site research by the VA. Therefore, all candidates must pass a VA background check and drug screen.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range
$43,890 - $71,320
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required.
Preferences
- Prior experience in a clinical or laboratory setting while obtaining informed consent.
- Possesses excellent organizational skills, especially with subject follow-up and reminders.
- Familiar with rules and regulations governing human subjects research (federal and institutional).
- REDCap - creation and/or use of this interface.
- Must be motivated and able to work independently once trained.
- Must be able to work well with others and be able to communicate effectively.
