Clinical Teaching Faculty Position in Durango, Colorado (Open Rank: Instructor of Clinical Teaching, Sr. Instructor of Clinical Teaching, Asst. Professor of Clinical Teaching, Associate Professor of Clinical Teaching, and Professor of Clinical Teaching)
Job Summary
The CU College of Nursing is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty member with expertise in acute and primary care across the lifespan and/or teaching undergraduate nursing courses. The work location for this faculty position is in Durango, Colorado on the Fort Lewis College Campus.
This position may involve didactic and clinical teaching responsibilities. It is the expectation that faculty will be on the Fort Lewis Campus or at clinical sites a minimum of three days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate learning by engaging students in high-level learning activities related to application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of course content.
- Remain current with best practices in teaching pedagogy and cognitive learning theories.
- Develop expertise in simulation pedagogy.
- Maintain clinical relevancy regarding guidelines and interventions pertinent to patient care.
- Contribute to a psychologically safe learning environment.
- Collaborate with teaching team(s) to foster continued quality improvement.
- Provide a climate of mutual respect, open communication, and collaboration.
- Evaluate student application of knowledge.
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Use educational technology, task training devices, and computer-assisted instructional tools.
- Promote accountability among students.
- Faculty are encouraged to contribute to the body of knowledge in nursing.
- Participate in professional service to the CU Anschutz College Nursing community.
- Instruct and facilitate meaningful learning of the course outcomes in the curriculum.
- Provide education through learner-centered instruction.
- Encourage a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility and respect.
- Participate in activities that promote the stature of the academic programs and the College of Nursing.
- Participate in course, curricular and program revisions/development as assigned.
- Introduce students to skills needed to succeed in a progressive teaching and learning environment.
- Serve on divisional, college, and university committees.
- Demonstrate a commitment to collaborative inter-professional teaching and scholarship.
