Clinical Track Hospitalist
The University of Texas San Antonio, Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine Department of Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine seeks an Assistant Professor/Clinical, Associate Professor/Clinical or Professor/Clinical dependent on the applicant’s level of experience.
Clinical Track Hospitalist positions involve clinical work on housestaff and non-housestaff services on our physician-only service lines to include admissions and cross-cover. Providing clinical care to patients throughout their hospital stay, communicating with patients and their families, relaying chosen course of treatment to each patient’s physician, coordinating with other physicians to ensure that treatment fits with the patient’s medical history and health needs, keeping physicians updated on their patient’s condition. Teaching and instruction of medical students, residents and fellows.
Qualified candidates must have a MD or DO degree, have completed 3 years of an ACGME-certified Internal Medicine residency and be board-eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). In addition, candidates must be licensed by the Texas Medical Board and maintain certification through the Drug Enforcement Agency.
