Clinician Educator - Assistant Professor - Dermatological Surgeon

Description

The Department of Dermatology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants should be Board certified or board eligible in Dermatology. The successful applicant will have graduated from a Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship sponsored by the American College of Graduate Medical Education.

Teaching responsibilities may include Clinical and didactic teaching of Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology fellows, residents from dermatology and other subspecialties who rotate with dermatologic surgery, medical students, and international rotators. Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for teaching are required.

Clinical responsibilities may include Mohs micrographic surgery, reconstructive surgery, and specialty skin cancer clinics. Applicants will have the opportunities to expand the services of specialty clinics in the Penn Dermatology Oncology Center. Research or scholarship responsibilities may include teaching and lecturing on topics that advance the prevention and treatment of skin cancer, particularly skin cancers at high risk for recurrence or metastasis. A strong interest in publishing original work is preferred.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include Publishing and lecturing about advances to prevent and treat skin cancer. Faculty enjoy extensive support with research fellows, statisticians, and regulatory support. Faculty also have support to initiate clinical trials.

The Penn Dermatology Oncology Center seeks candidates who demonstrate excellence in cutaneous oncology, Mohs micrographic surgery, complex reconstructive surgery, and ethical practice. The candidate will join our team of surgeons, medical dermatologists, and researchers to expand and strengthen the specialty services of our Penn Dermatology Oncology Center. We will mentor the applicant to develop a national and international reputation through regular publishing, lecturing, and clinical excellence in a niche of dermatologic surgery or cutaneous oncology.
