College Master
The Residential College (RC) system is a comprehensive community-based educational platform that embodies the University’s 4-in-1 education model and student-centered philosophy of whole-person education.
In alignment with UM’s Residential College education model, the College Master provides leadership to an individual college in advancing its mission as a dynamic academic and social community dedicated to residential college education and the whole‑person development of students. Reporting to the Vice Rector (Student Affairs), the College Master is responsible for overseeing the effective implementation of the five educational measures within the college, with the objective of cultivating and enhancing students’ designated learning competencies.
In particular, the candidates should have the following credentials:
- An earned doctoral degree, preferably obtained from a reputable university;
- Candidates at the rank of Full Professor with well‑balanced experience in teaching, research, and service; or candidates with at least ten years of distinguished professional experience relevant to residential college or collegiate education comparable to UM’s Residential College model;
- Demonstrated experience in student services, with a strong commitment to and advocacy for holistic, whole‑person education;
- Proven administrative and management experience in a higher education institution;
- A strong record of publications or scholarly contributions in the area of residential college or collegiate education is highly desirable;
- Recognised standing and social influence within local and/or regional communities is highly desirable.
