College of Nursing Adjunct Faculty 2026/2027

Job Duties

• Teach assigned courses as scheduled and meet all designated class periods.
• Prepare course materials such as syllabi, lectures, and assignments.
• Engage students in active learning and facilitate meaningful class discussions.
• Assess student learning through examinations, quizzes, and other assignments.
• Provide timely feedback to students and maintain records of their progress.
• Maintain regular office hours for student consultation and support.
• Submit assessment reporting data and materials and participate in departmental assessment activities, as required by supervisor.
• Post syllabus and maintain gradebook in Blackboard or other official online course delivery platform.

Minimum Required Education

A master’s degree or higher in a program of study in the discipline in which they may be hired to teach is required and prior teaching experience is preferred. The degree must be from a regionally or nationally accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.

Minimum Qualifications

• Prior teaching experience at the college or university level is desirable.
• Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the subject area of the course(s) to be taught.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and student-centered learning.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
