COMMUNITY OUTREACH COORDINATOR
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a COMMUNITY OUTREACH COORDINATOR to engage with community organizations and regional stakeholders to strengthen the program s network and community presence. To support partner onboarding, coordinate communication, and help plan meetings and engagement sessions. To lead community-based outreach by attending events, organizing site visits, and representing the program in public-facing activities. To develop and disseminate program resources and outreach materials, and connect partners with relevant programs and services. To gather field insights by documenting partner feedback, tracking outreach activities, and contributing to program planning. To provide administrative support through maintaining contact databases, coordinating meeting logistics, and preparing materials for partner engagement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Community Engagement Partner Outreach Conduct outreach to community-based organizations, healthcare providers, and regional partners across targeted rural areas, with a focus on the Black Belt region. Build and maintain relationships with partners to support ongoing consortium engagement and participation. Identify and engage new partners to expand RMDC's network and reach. Serve as a field-based liaison between RMDC and community stakeholders.
- Partner Engagement Consortium Support Support partner onboarding activities, including communication, follow-up, and coordination of participation in consortium efforts. Assist with planning and execution of quarterly consortium meetings and partner engagement sessions. Track partner participation and engagement and report updates to the Program Manager. Support facilitation of community discussions, listening sessions, and partner meetings.
- Community-Based Outreach Events Coordinate and participate in community events, site visits, and outreach activities across rural regions. Represent RMDC at local meetings, events, and partner convenings. Assist with organizing outreach calendars in coordination with the Program Manager and partners. Support logistics for community-facing activities and engagement efforts.
- Resource Sharing Education Support Assist in disseminating maternal health resources, tools, and program information to partners and communities. Support development and distribution of outreach and educational materials (e.g., flyers, presentations, toolkits). Help connect partners to relevant services, programs, and referral resources.
- Field-Based Data Insight Collection (Support Role) Collect and document feedback from partners and communities to inform RMDC activities. Maintain records of outreach activities, partner interactions, and engagement efforts. Provide field insights to support program planning, gap identification, and continuous improvement. Support basic data collection efforts as directed by the Program Director (no responsibility for formal reporting or analysis).
- Administrative Program Support Maintain partner contact lists and outreach tracking tools. Assist with coordination of meeting logistics, communications, and follow-up. Support preparation of materials for meetings, events, and partner engagement activities. Perform other related duties as assigned in support of RMDC program goals.
- Other Duties Perform other related duties as directed to support the missions of the School of Nursing and the RMDC program.
Duties and Responsibilities
(Annual Salary: $43,890 - $71,320)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in public health, nursing, health administration, social work, or a closely related field and two (2) years of related experience. Master's degree preferred and two (2) years of progressively responsible community engagement in health, public health, or community-based initiatives, ideally on HRSA or state-funded projects.
Should demonstrate the ability to facilitate multi-stakeholder engagement. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed with a Driver's License from the State of Alabama required.
