Consultant, Orthopedic Surgeon (Part-Time)

The University of Arizona, Campus Health Service (CHS) seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Consultant, Orthopedic Surgeon. This position is responsible for providing quality patient care to a primarily adolescent and young adult population in Ambulatory Care/Outpatient clinics at the CHS.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct medical examinations, diagnose, prescribe, treat and perform office based orthopedic procedures.
- Practice within clinical skill and competencies.
- Consult with other CHS health care providers.
- Provide technical direction to Nurse Practitioners and Nurses.
- Cooperative interaction with other clinical and support staff.
- Involvement in committees and teams as appropriate.
- Perform other work-related assignments as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- In addition to the education and experience minimum qualifications, M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school and license to practice medicine or Osteopathic Physician Licensure required.
- Licensed in the State of Arizona.
- Five years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Board eligibility or certification in Orthopedic Surgery.
