Contract & Grant Analyst
The Office of Contract and Grant Administration (OCGA) is a part of the Office of Research Administration (ORA) which supports the UCLA research program by providing leadership, professional guidance and administrative services to faculty, department administrators, and students. The Contract & Grant Analyst has primary responsibility for grants and cooperative agreements processed and managed by OCGA for an assigned set of campus departments and research units. Operates under delegated authority from the Chancellor. Assists administrative staff and faculty in assessing funding opportunities and submitting applications for grant funding to government (federal, state, county and municipal) and non-profit (foundations, educational institutions, research organizations) entities. If awarded, the support funds research, training, or public service programs. The Analyst is responsible for review of proposals for compliance with sponsor and university terms and rules, review, negotiation and acceptance of resulting grant awards, and ensuring responsible stewardship of grant funds. Coordinates on-going grant management activities on behalf of the University, working with the investigator, campus administrators and the sponsor during the term of the award to ensure that reports are submitted, grant terms honored, and close-out documents processed. Must master a wide range of complex operational and administrative matters, and demonstrate a detailed understanding of the organization and functions of academic departments, organizational research units, other campus units involved in research administration, and the Office of the President. Be familiar with and maintain University and campus academic policies and administrative standards.
