About the Position
The Coordinator of Residence Life for Residential Academic Engagement assists with the implementation and assessment of all residential learning communities and serves as a liaison for faculty and staff who work with the individual residential learning communities.
Responsibilities
Residential Academic Engagement Initiatives
- Assists with the development and implementation of all Residential Learning Communities (RLCs) to improve and support student retention and success
- Manages the residential tutoring program including recruitment, hiring, training, and supervising the residential tutors
Residential Learning Community Marketing, Occupancy, and Assessment
- Implements marketing and recruitment efforts including creation and management of both print and electronic materials
- Collects and tracks Residential Learning Community programming using a program tracker
Partnerships and Collaborations
- Collaborates with Residential Learning Community partners and stakeholders including students, faculty, staff, deans, and directors
Unit and Division Support/Service
- Serves as a live-in staff member and participates in an on-call rotation
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Progressive experience, typically obtained in two years in residence life, student affairs, or housing operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Full time or graduate assistant experience in higher education at a four-year institution
- Experience with Learning Communities that contribute to student engagement and retention
