Coordinator of Student Life
The Coordinator of Student Life is part of the leadership team responsible for the development, implementation, and assessment of Student Life and Fraternity and Sorority programs at Florida Tech. The Coordinator is responsible for helping oversee the day-to-day operations of the Fraternity and Sorority Community, which entails coordinating programs and events, campus-community partnerships and activities, and others. The Coordinator will share responsibility with other professional staff members in Student Life for coordinating Leadership Development, Welcome Week, and additional theme weeks, as well as educational programming.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provides comprehensive advising and leadership services to selected Sororities, Fraternities, and Governing Councils (Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Association, and Professional Fraternity Council) in organizational leadership, program development, wellness programming, risk management, budget management, and membership development and recruitment.
- Develops and implements programs to enhance students' opportunities to engage with campus fraternities and sororities.
- Works collaboratively with administrators to develop, implement, document, and enforce program policies and procedures.
- Creates and implements evaluations, assessments, and strategic goals for student retention and engagement to assess and report on the growth and effectiveness of fraternities and sororities to the Dean of Students.
- Coordinate and integrate all activities within the campus community for Florida Tech Student Life and the Fraternity and Sorority Community, including the incentive program.
- Plan, prepare, and create all educational programs, including Break Responsibility, etc.
- Assist in assessing all areas of the Student Life experience
- Oversee the Welcome Week program with all departments and areas that are involved.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements Include:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent knowledge obtained through a combination of education, training and experience)
- Minimum 0–2 years of relevant work experience required
- Experience in student leadership development and student activities in higher education setting preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Innovative thinker with a vision for providing high quality services to students
- Computer skills which include the ability to use social media
- Ability to work non-standard work hours, including evening and weekends
