Coordinator of the Student Advocacy & Resource Center (SARC)

General Position Description

This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and expand the Student Advocacy and Resource Center (SARC), creating meaningful programs and support services that promote student wellness, advocacy, retention, and success. The coordinator provides proactive support and intervention to help students remain on track to successfully complete their program of study while addressing barriers that may impact student wellbeing and success. The position coordinates student advocacy initiatives and campus programming related to health and wellness, prevention education, basic needs support, and student engagement. The coordinator works closely with students, faculty, staff, and community organizations to connect students with campus and community resources. Responsibilities include coordinating wellness and prevention programming; supporting the campus food pantry and emergency assistance resources; supervising student workers and service scholarship students; assisting with advising and supporting special populations; and fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for all students, including adult learners and parent students. The coordinator also supports student retention and success efforts through outreach, communication, and collaboration with campus departments and external partners. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of two years of recent experience in higher education, including student advising experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in a related field and recent experience in a community college setting. Familiarity with best practices in academic learning communities are preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal, facilitation, and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, administrators, and staff. Knowledge of the mission of Washington County Community College and the needs of its student population. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required; experience with Student Information Systems preferred. Ability to work accurately with data and maintain data integrity.

Salary

MEA Admin, Level III, $46,374 to $55,373.17, salary commensurate with education and experience.
