for the Stars STEM Academy (RFTSSA) for the summer of 2026 on the Stockton University of the Pacific campus.

Program service areas and location: The RFTSSA serves students in the Stockton Unified School District.
Academy Overview: Our STEM academies are academically intense, mathematics-based, summer enrichment programs designed for students who lack access to resources that would enable them to accelerate their learning and move into college preparatory coursework in high school.

Academy Dates: June 1 - June 26, 2026. Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 3:30 pm.

Essential Functions:

On-site Management and Outreach Support:

Support Tomorrow Project Administrator in all administrative functions of the academy.
Assist and support current and new academies related to the Tomorrow Project.
Provide staff development for teachers and teaching assistants regarding the philosophical application and long-term goals of the Tomorrow Project and the purpose of project-based curriculum development.
Provide classroom instructional support as needed.
Collaborate with teachers to reinforce curriculum implementation and behavioral restorative justice.
Observe instructional methodologies and provide feedback to teachers with consultative guidance from Program Administrator.
Work with Tomorrow Project Administrator to collect academy data.
Keep up-to-date records of equipment, materials, maintenance, and supplies.
Support teachers in monitoring daily activities (student breaks, lunch, field trips etc.).
Hold daily staff meetings with teachers and/or teaching assistants.
Serves as liaison between the Tomorrow Project Administrator and academy site administrators for all academy related needs/issues.
Coordinate logistics for ordering classroom instructional supplies, setting up field trips, ordering daily lunches and snacks, etc.
Maintain up to date reconciled operating budget for academy (not to include personnel costs).
Plan, coordinate, and oversee other events, such as parent training, community outreach, etc.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with students and staff to provide a sense of connectedness with the academy and academy site personnel.
Assist with program marketing and outreach.

Program/Administrative Operations Support Related Responsibilities:

Serve as a first-stop source of assistance to parents, Sacramento Oak Park site administrators, academy classroom teachers, visitors, and other public entities for academy related information.
Assist with oversight and management of budget and accounting record keeping for the academy.
Maintain records, prepares forms, verifies information, and resolves issues requiring knowledge of University and academy processes.
Oversee academy activity calendar and schedule meetings, fieldtrips, events, etc.
Provide Ad-Hoc reports as requested.
Interview, supervise, and train teaching assistants, volunteers, and/or work study students.
Update program website pages as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and a valid Multiple Subject Credential, or Single Subject Mathematics, or Science teaching credential, or STEM certification.
Ten (10) years of direct teaching experience in a public middle and/or high school setting.
Five (5) years of coordinator/project management experience in a public middle and/or high school setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse students and collegial populations in a variety of settings; engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in the learning environment; promote and enhance diversity and inclusion in professional practices; speak and understand Spanish; use a variety of STEM-related educational tools such as, but not limited to: 3D printing, AutoCAD, laser cutting, vinyl cutting, Arduino, Makey-Makey, Codecademy, Sphero, Tynker, BeeBot, Parrot MiniDrone. Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting. Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
