Primary Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate a wide variety of educational credentials including academic credit for prior learning, dual credit, military tests/training and international transcripts for students enrolling at Columbia Basin College; inform students of educational credential evaluation results;
• Determine accreditation of previously attended institution(s), interpret grades awarded on a wide variety of grading scales, and maintain transfer in course translation tables and transcript databases;
• Coordinate the transcript ordering process and fulfill all outgoing transcript requests;
• Provide high-level customer service and problem-solving assistance to students, staff and the public regarding admissions, registration, transcript requests, transfer-in processes and other Student Records related inquiries by responding to emails, answering phone calls and meeting with students listed on the Student Records drop-in queue;
• Review and process grade repeat requests, ensuring accurate application of institutional repeat policies and proper updates to student academic records;
• Maintain and update the Academic Advisement Report system for CBC degrees and certificates, and support the graduation application review process;
• Collect, organize and track selective admission applications, and route to appropriate departments;
• Interpret and apply knowledge of applicable federal, state and college policies and procedures;
• Attend meetings, trainings and conferences as a Student Records representative;
• Serve as a back-up switchboard operator; and
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent education from an institutionally accredited college or university; and
• Intermediate to advanced computer experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office and learning management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an institutionally accredited college or university;
• Two (2) or more years of experience working in higher education;
• Experience in a student information system (SIS) and databases;
• Experience interpreting and following policies, procedures and federal and state regulations; and
• Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.
