Responsibilities
Supervisor, Janitorial Services
- Determines the proper distribution of employees and materials for a particular day's cleaning problems by inspecting assigned building(s) to ensure an adequate cleaning job is done.
- Gives general supervision by assigning tasks and reviewing work of one to five full-time and/or five to twenty part-time custodians and custodial workers which may be in one shift or two (four hour shifts) depending on the particular needs of the building in question.
- Assist in training new crew members in the proper use of equipment and materials by demonstration and suggestion to ensure proper application of chemicals and minimum breakdown of equipment.
Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master's (or equivalency) degree.
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Supervisor, Janitorial Services: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master's (or equivalency) degree.
Preferences
- Two years of previous custodial experience
- The ability to lift 50 lbs
- The ability to climb a minimum of six feet on an authorized stepladder or scaffolding
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills needed.
- Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are needed
- Valid Driver's License
