The Role:

The University of Cambridge is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support the delivery of the Reimagining Professional Services (RPS) programme, an ambitious initiative which aims to create a compelling new future for professional services across the University of Cambridge. This role is part of large-scale initiatives aimed at adopting new ways of working to support our staff and academic mission.

The nature of the RPS programme will mean working with multi-disciplinary teams on improvements to University services and operations and the Data Analyst will be vital in providing key management information and analysis to support this work.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary focus of the role is to independently develop and maintain solutions for provision of business intelligence (BI) and performance indicators, and to prepare analysis of quantitative data required by a variety of internal stakeholders. The work will use a structure of data concepts and relationships describing operational effectiveness, benchmarking and cost, and will contribute to its further development, communication and refinement.

The programme will offer the role holder an opportunity to get involved in a variety of tasks, supported by colleagues from a range of disciplines, enabling staff to both share their knowledge and to learn and develop their practice from different perspectives.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 6 months.

We are looking for:

With your strong analytical skills, you will have:

  • Experience with analysis of complex data and dealing with big and multiple-source datasets, knowledge of statistical methods and their appropriate use.
  • Strong skills in attention to detail and accuracy and be able to work as part of a team as well as individually
  • The ability to communicate well with colleagues across the University at all levels.

The ideal candidate will bring a pragmatic but methodical approach, utilising and applying their analytical skills to support programme goals.
