Major Duties
Under the general supervision of the Business Law Department Chair, the Department Coordinator provides administrative, financial, scheduling, personnel, and office support for the Department of the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics (DNCBE). The incumbent's responsibilities include coordinating department operations, assisting with faculty recruitment and personnel processes, supporting budget activities, maintaining records, assisting students and faculty, and ensuring efficient office workflow.
- Serves as a resource person for the Department Chair, faculty and students.
- Implements office procedures and oversees office workflow.
- Monitors department expenditures and reconciles department funds.
- Helps prepare and update schedules of classes (SOC) for the Department every semester using SOLAR.
- Assists Department Chair in faculty recruitment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Equivalent to five (5) years of full-time, progressively responsible administrative or technical office management experience in an administrative capacity exercising independent judgment and leading the work of others.
- Equivalent to full-time college or university education/vocational school training in business or job-related field may be substituted for up to two (2) years of the required experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of administrative operations, office practices, and customer service principles in a professional environment. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, attention to detail, and responsiveness to competing priorities. Skilled in identifying issues, evaluating options, and implementing effective solutions in a proactive and timely manner.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to serve as an effective resource for administrators, faculty, staff, students, and campus partners. Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships, provide guidance and work direction to student assistants, and support efficient workflow through effective coordination, organization, and follow-through on assigned projects and activities.
Working knowledge of budgeting, financial recordkeeping, and expenditure tracking practices. Ability to monitor financial activity, reconcile accounts, review transactions for accuracy, and maintain detailed records in accordance with university policies and procedures. Skilled in interpreting financial information and identifying discrepancies to support sound fiscal operations.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate purchasing and administrative support activities using online procurement, travel, and financial systems. Skilled in processing requisitions, verifying travel authorizations and expense reports, and maintaining compliance with established guidelines. Ability to prioritize operational needs, provide responsive support to multiple stakeholders, and ensure timely completion of administrative transactions.

The anticipated HIRING RATE is $4367 per month. The salary range for this classification is: $4367 - $6362 per month.
HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday. May include evenings and weekends.
This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
The individual hired for this role will physically work on-campus in Northridge. This is not a telecommute position.
