Department of Family Medicine - Open Rank
The UCR Department of Family Medicine seeks full-time board-certified family physicians with a full and unrestricted California medical license to join a team of committed faculty who provide ambulatory and inpatient services within Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Responsibilities of this position include clinical care, teaching medical students and residents as well as engaging in community-based participatory research, public service, quality initiatives and service to the University. Time will be provided to pursue scholarly activities and ensure academic promotion. The successful applicant must qualify for an academic appointment in Professor of Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the Assistant, Associate, or Full professor rank. Academic rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience with advancement through a series of structured, merit-based evaluations, occurring every 2-3 years, each of which includes substantial peer input.
Basic qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Hold a full and unrestricted license from the Medical Board of California
- Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine or American Board of Osteopathic Medicine
- Qualify for medical staff privileges at UCR Health and at UCR affiliated health settings
Additional qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in teaching residents and medical students

- Current practice with under-resourced and underinsured patients ranging from newborn to geriatrics and ambulatory low-risk prenatal care
- Acute Care Hospital Experience
- Fellowship in Addiction Medicine
- Fellowship in Community Medicine
- Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine
- Fellowship in Sports Medicine
- Fellowship in Street Medicine
The posted UC salary scales Academic salaries | UCOP set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5 for the salary range. The Base Salary range for this position is $131,200 - $344,400. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan 2021 02 11 Hscp%20 Plan, which provides eligibility for additional compensation.
