The successful candidate will design and synthesise functional organic molecules and investigate their organisation through supramolecular interactions (e.g. hydrogen bonding, π–π stacking, and metal coordination).
You will study how controlled molecular packing influences charge transport, light absorption and emission properties of the systems. This project will provide the PhD candidate an excellent training opportunity in synthetic organic chemistry techniques, supramolecular self-assembly and photophysical analysis, in modern well-equipped laboratories.

Applicants should have or expect to achieve at least a 2:1 honours degree (or equivalent international qualification) in chemistry. We are looking for candidates with:
- An interest in supramolecular chemistry, materials science, or organic synthesis.
- Motivation to work in an interdisciplinary research environment.
- Good communication and independent research skills.
