Digital Communications Coordinator
Description of Work
****Recruitment Range: $35,880.00-$55,997.00**** The Digital Communications Coordinator manages the university’s social media channels and is responsible for marketing the university through organic and paid strategic content development and curation. The candidate should possess communication and marketing skills including a strong understanding of social media, campaign development, writing and editing, and photography for inclusion on multiple platforms, including but not limited to the university social media sites. The Digital Communications Coordinator will work with the staff of the Office of Communications and Marketing to promote the university’s strategic priorities.
Competencies/Knowledge Skills, and Abilities Required in this Position
Knowledge – Technical: Demonstrated knowledge of various social media platforms, analytics, algorithms, and emerging digital trends to support effective audience engagement and campaign performance. Understands and uses communication, design and visual art concepts and practices pertinent to the area of responsibility.
Knowledge – Professional: Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and content creation skills for use across digital, social media, and multimedia platforms. Proficiency in photography, graphic design, video, and content management tools used in digital communications and social media marketing.
Communication: Demonstrated ability to research, recommend, and implement emerging communication technologies, tools, and best practices to enhance digital outreach and engagement.
Consulting/Advising: Ability to identify, advise and collaborate with customers (external and internal) regarding communication needs and issues.
Project Management: Strong project management, organizational, and collaboration skills with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of campus stakeholders.
Organizational Sensitivity: Ability to understand the mission, objectives and goals of a department with multiple service delivery functions.
Minimum Training and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
